Mr C-D's Classes:

Per. 1 American Lit

Per. 3 English Recovery Per. 4-5 Sp 111

We are in the home stretch. You are almost done! Spring and Senioritis are wafting heavily in the air. Although it is from a winter poem, I thought I would share this stanza by Robert Frost:

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

We have plenty of work left to do, so I encourage all of you to finish strong, and keep both this stanza and the following word picture in mind:

A fighter jet, when touching down on an aircraft carrier, has to open up the after-burner to full power. The reasoning for this is because, if in the event that the jet's tailhook misses the carrier's braking cable, it will have enough power to take off again, instead of skidding over the end of the ship and plunging into the ocean. If you have seen Top Gun, then you can probably guess that a screw-up like that could send a pilot to the duty of flying a cargo plane full of rubber dog poo out of Hong Kong and, well, I digress...

Please stay up to date in my class by ATTENDING REGULARLY, while also regularly visiting this site for both your course syllabus and class calendar. I wish you the best. Let's go!
