Welcome to T3!!!
(exact replica of Mr. C-D in digital form. That's right people, I said EXACT.)Okay. Just checking to see who actually reads this thing... Welcome to Trimester 3, my young friends. Before you know it, we will be saying heartfelt goodbyes to one another for the summer, so let's make the most of our time. Here is the schedule for week one, starting with English 9C:
Eng 9C Week ONE
- M: Welcome, Procedures and Syllabus
- T: Free write: "I am..." Student Survey and discussion on Reading, Writing and Speaking needs, Introduction to Autobiography Unit
- W: Free write: "I like..." Discussion and drafting of Chapters 1-2; "Birth to 5yrs" and "Elementary Years" (K-5th grade)
- Th: Peer Response Groups for Chapters 1-2, Instructions and Implementation, Begin Revisions
- F:Read and discuss "Black Boy" by Richard Wright (those missing class will have to answer comprehension questions in the book) Complete Strong 2nd draft to Chapters 1-2.
- Weekend homework: Complete Strong 2nd draft to ch. 1-2 if not finished on Friday.
Creative Writing Week ONE
- M: Welcome, Procedures and Syllabus
- T: Student Survey on interest and ability for both genre specific reading and genre specific creative writing, Introduce and discuss Online Safefy Regulations for the "Rimrock Voices"
- W: Complete Online Safety Regulations (have signed by yourself and parent/guardian by Fri, 4th period at the latest!) Begin Character Mapping Questionnairre.
- Th: Discuss the relationship between the six main character elements and how they influence the plot of the story.
- F: (Computer Lab) Students will sign up for their Writer's Cafe account, join the "Rimrock Voices" classroom group and begin responding to the first writing prompt on characterization.
- Weekend Homework: Respond to 4 classmates' responses to the writing prompt. Give thorough and supportive feedback on their site as shown in class.
